Berlin in 6 #6God.. First travel vlog

This year i have moved to Germany to play my first professional basketball season. Before moving here to play i had never been to Germany but i had heard a lot of stories from friends and people i've met over the years. Being a graffiti lover, i always said that i would come here at least once in my life to check out the east side gallery on the Berlin wall. You know those people that cant do anything exciting unless they need a friend or somebody else to be with them, they have opportunities to do cool stuff but wont take the opportunity because they don't want to do things alone....yeah i'm not one of those people. I used to be, but i've realized there's so much to do out there in this world and 'waiting' for a friend to be ready to join in, just isn't for me. Anyway, this month my team decided to give us a 4-day break since we had no game that weekend and since i had nothing to do, i felt why not move my end of season trip to Berlin to now, it was a bit spontaneous but that made it even better. The plan was to make the 6 hour drive up to Berlin, stay in a hostel for a few days, see the sights and enjoy the night life, then drive to Amsterdam to see the sights there and see the Drake concert. Let me tell you this, i know how to drive a car, i think i drive pretty well, i've driven all over the world but i had never driven in Germany on the autobahn. The autobahn is famous for having no speed limit, so driving in a kia and being spun around by Audi's, Mercedes and Bmw's wasn't fun. Ive always been into travel, seeing different parts of the world and enjoying different cultures has always been appealing. I promised myself that i would use basketball to help me travel and experience life. I used to be that guy who would only travel if i got on a plane where i could check in one suitcase and then when i landed had to stay in a nice hotel. Thats changed a lot, now i'm just in it for the experience and to see what happens. As we all know traveling can be expensive, but if you do certain things you can cut down a lot of the cost, one of them being staying in hostels. Yes i know what you're thinking, "Hostels ?...nope, have you seen the movie hostel where everybody dies...i'm good, no thank you".haha. I used to think this but hostels are a great way to travel and stay somewhere cheap, clean and surrounded by other people who are into the same things you are for a fraction of the cost. Im not boujee, i have a plan and anything that can help that, i'm with. Honestly it adds fun and excitement to it all. Berlin was a great trip, it was originally a solo trip but my teammate James decided last minute that it would be too good of an opportunity to miss and got involved. We did touristy things, got to see the sights such as the Berlin wall and the victory column and night life, learning a bit about Berlin was cool.

The next leg of the trip was to Amsterdam, this was the second time i had been to Amsterdam and this time it was far more pleasant than the first as you will see in the vlog. The first time i went to Amsterdam i didn't get to check out the Iamsterdam sign, so had to make sure that happened on the second time around, finishing the trip off seeing Drake made it all worth it. Cant go wrong seeing one of your favourite artists, with good company and seeing the world.

Overall, this was a great 4 day trip, it was a lot of driving but it was definitely worth it. It opened up my eyes to wanting to do a lot more, such as solo trips, a lot more spontaneous 'why not, might never get this chance again' trips. Heres some pics from Berlin...

I made a vlog of all the things we got up to on this trip, just two hoopers abroad enjoying themselves and documenting it as we go along....hope you enjoy.
